Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
Last updated October 6, 2026
Draft for legal review. This text is a starting template and must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer in Canada and the United States before launch.
Who we are
Business Launch Authority (legal entity to be confirmed) (“we”, “us”) operates businesslaunchauthority.com. We work with clients in the United States and Canada. Questions about privacy go to our privacy contact at hello@businesslaunchauthority.com.
What we collect
Launch Score
Your answers to the questionnaire, your first name and email address, the country you select, how you found us (for example a campaign link), and a one-way hash of your IP address used to prevent abuse. We do not store your raw IP address with your score.
Contact form
Your name, email address, topic and message.
Chat with Sofia
Sofia is the automated assistant on our website. When you chat with her, we save the conversation, the page you started on, your approximate country and currency, and a one-way scrambled form of your internet address (used only to prevent abuse). If you ask to hear from the team, we also save the name and email you give and pass the chat to them. If you rate an answer as helpful or not, we save that rating with the chat. Signed-in clients can also chat with Sofia in the client portal; those chats are linked to their account so she can say where their project is up to. Chats are deleted after 12 months; a chat you passed to the team is kept with your message for as long as we need it to help you.
Booking a call
If you book a call, the booking is handled by Cal.com. It receives your name, email address, the time you choose, your time zone and anything you add in the booking notes, and sends the calendar invitation and reminders. We receive the same details.
Clients
Information you provide in the intake (company details, offer, evidence, brand and launch details), files you upload, comments and approvals, and billing information. When you order, we also save how you found us in that browser visit (the campaign link, referring website or first page you viewed) with your order. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
Analytics
If you allow analytics, we record first-party events such as page views, button clicks and questionnaire progress, linked to a random session identifier that is cleared when you close your browser tab. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data. If you decline, these events are not sent. You can change your choice on Your privacy choices.
Text messages
Clients can choose to receive reminders by text message in the client portal. We then store your mobile number and when you agreed, and send texts through our messaging provider (Twilio) only about your project, never marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text, or switch it off in the portal, to stop.
Referral partners
If you apply to be a referral partner, we save the details you give (name, firm, profession, contact details and message) to review your application and, if accepted, to track referrals and pay commission.
Cookies
bla_curpick— remembers a currency you chose with “Change”. 12 months.bla_mkt— remembers your approximate country (from your device's time zone or your internet address), so pages show the right market and prices. 30 days.bla_consent— remembers your analytics choice. 6 months.bla_var— keeps the same version of the home page for you while we compare two wordings (it holds only “a” or “b”). 90 days.- Authentication cookies for the client portal, when you sign in.
How we use it
- To calculate and send your Launch Score and, if you ask, to review it with you.
- To reply to messages and deliver the services you buy.
- To send marketing email only if you opted in. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the US CAN-SPAM Act.
- To keep our services secure and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Research and production tools
For clients, we use specialist research, writing and production tools to prepare deliverables. We send only what each task needs, never passwords or payment details, and we use providers whose terms do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes. An expert reviews all work before it reaches you.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the service, including hosting (Cloudflare), database and file storage (Supabase), text messages (Twilio, if you turn them on), payments (Stripe and PayPal, and pay-over-time providers Klarna, Afterpay and Affirm if you choose them), call booking (Cal.com), email delivery, press release distribution, and research and production tools. Some may process data outside your province, state or country, including in the United States. They act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
Retention
- Launch Score leads who do not become clients: up to 24 months after last contact, then deleted or anonymized.
- Client project records, approvals and deliverables: for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years, for legal and accounting purposes.
- Analytics events: up to 14 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under PIPEDA and provincial laws in Canada and state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent. Email hello@businesslaunchauthority.com. We will respond within 30 days. Some records must be kept for legal or accounting reasons; we will tell you if that applies. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. Access is limited by role, operators use multi-factor authentication, and uploaded files are stored privately and shared only through short-lived links.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will be emailed to clients.
